چکیده

Intelligent Network (IN) is a standard architecture developed by ITU-T and applicable to all telecommunications networks including PSTN, ISDN and PLMN. IN aims to ease the development and deployment of new telecommunications services. However, the problem of feature interaction hinders it from easily reaching this goal. In this paper, we discuss the feature interaction problem before introducing our tool for Feature Interaction Detection (FID). The FID tool takes as input features modeled with object-oriented templates. These features are described in terms of necessary resources and actions instead of detailed behaviors. The FID tool implements a new pragmatic detection technique and provides all the necessary components for using this technique as well as the necessary parts for its evolution in order to take into account new features and new causes of feature interactions. We validate our approach and tool against existing feature interaction benchmarks. q 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
